New Sunflower photos

The sunflowers back here were planted later than that first bunch and make a partial privacy screen between my yard and the neighbors driveway. The nice thing about this is that they like the idea as much as I do.

These are some of the first ones shot from other angles.

The neighbors garage roof in the back of this shot makes the sunflower look like a giant!

The last annuals

The impatiens and geraniums in 3 pots had thinned and become leggy so I trimmed and combined all of the pots into one. I shot these pictures on a phone and will take a camera with me when I go back out to take a photo of the results of today's efforts.

Today's Blooms

I love the way these sunflowers look but hate the garage and the trees in the background so I'll take it to  a paint program and see what I can do with it.

3 of these flowers were from a neighbor and the rest were from my front garden. I plan to do some drawing and painting with them later in the day.

I started working on this photos to blend out a few extra leaves that I didn't want in the shot but got bored with it and decided to put it up here anyway.

Today's Sunflowers

This is my favorite of today's photos. I plan to base a painting on it soon.

Yes, these are the sunflowers I planted next to that new cedar box. They got so big that you can barely see bits of the trellis through them.

You won't believe how many pictures I took trying to get this shot with the wings open!

A bit of everything

It was really hot out today so I went out early in the morning to water the garden and avoid most of the heat.

Of course I couldn't stay away from the arbor I'm painting so I popped outside from time to time to add a few more brush stokes to it.

Aside from that I've done a bit more design work on Zazzle and spent some time sorting out my work table.

I'd started cutting down some of my hosta for the season but am waiting for cooler weather to finish cleaning it up.

There are so many ideas popping in my head that I can't wait to get back to my brushes but I'm avoiding any other painting until I finish the arbor. Fall will be here soon and I don't want to run out of time to work on it before winter. The one tiny section that I'm working on now has already taken 2 days and is nowhere near done. At this rate it's going to take FOREVER!

Iris Art

I'd painted this bird house quite a long time ago and wanted to do a garden stake to match. This was quite a challenge today because there were 20 -30 mile an hour winds the whole time I was trying to paint so everything kept drying much to fast and made it difficult to work with.

Still, I was determined to get it done and kept working anyway. When the wind got to me I trimmed back some of the hosta and painted a few more designs on the arbor.

Winds like that wear you out so a nap helped.

This little horse doesn't look very impressive for being so much effort but it does continue the theme in this planter and is a nice addition to my little 'art garden" here.

I may add a few more stakes on this theme in different shapes and heights but this will have to do for now.
