The season winds down and so do I
When I sit outside these days I enjoy the last of the flowers, beans an tomatoes and pick a few from time to time.
Things didn't turn out as well as I'd liked. The radishes, turnips and many other things failed but I turned my attention to the things that preformed well above expectations like these marigolds planted from last years seed.
The strawberries spread well but as in many first years in a new bed. There were precious few berries.
Here's the " container corner"as it looks now. Mostly beans and marigolds. Quite a contrast from when we first started.
As things slow down I'm back to combining garden photos with some drawing as I work on some card designs.
This leaf border on the inside becomes a nice trim to the deckle overlap you see when you look at the closed card.
The mini tomatoes began to fail in the house so I planted some in soil to finish ripening.

Cutting Flowers to Draw
I added this plant to my garden last year and was glad to see it both survive and thrive for this year.
I hosted another tea here earlier this week and was able to use these flowers along with a few marigolds to decorate the table.
As long as they'd been cut already it seemed like a good time for some drawing as well.
I'd also added some Marigolds to the flowers in this vase to fill in some of the extra spaces.
I did a card to go with this envelope mail but it got mailed out before I had a chance to scan it.
