Two ways to paint the pastel butterfly
This was my first attempt. I looked at the picture on the card and drew the color areas in with pencil before carefully painting within the lines. It took a long time and I was not thrilled with the results.
The second one was easier and a lot more fun. I didn't do any drawing and simply let the base color show through between areas of the pink, blue and green.
Which one looks more like the picture? I can't really say and I don't think realisim is the point here- do you? It's up to you and what you're trying to accomplish.
My only goal was to have something cute to put on a garden stake and either way I think I've accomplished that- don't you?
