There have been several species of birds at the feeders and on the plants in the garden today but the only photo we managed to catch was this cardinal. Earlier in the day there had been 2 males and a female until a large blue and black bird seemed to have chased them off. other than that we've had chickadees, a woodpecker and a few of other birds that I don't know the names of.
It's so nice to have the feeders outside the living room window and be able to watch them any time that I'd like to. I don't get out in the yard much this time of the year to watch them with the rose hips and the black raspberries that we leave on the bushes for them but I know they're enjoying them form the occasional splashes of color that decorate the wheelchair ramp.
Speaking of splashes of color, I plan to get some painting done today. I haven't even decided just what I'll start on. I guess I'll just wander around a bit and see what catches my eye.

Scanning Photos and Drawings
I'm sorry to say that my scanner just went out and appears to be beyond repair this time so there may be a while before I can include pictures in my posts again.
You'll just have to trust me that interesting things continue to go on whether you get to see them all or not.
Look on the bright side, when I get a new machine there will be lots to see and in between we can just brush up on our reading and writing skills.
Today's first painting project was just doing my nails, BOOORING so I at least picked a fun color and did them "Groovy Green" Even the name made me smile and it just matches the shirt I'm wearing which always makes me feel good.
Isn't that the whole point of color on our lives?

Did you miss me?
I haven't gotten around to posting because I'm still crocheting that afghan and made a couple of hats while I was at it.
I finally got back to painting again but only enough to make a birthday card with those watercolor brush markers.
I also decorated the senior center for spring and had fun combining all sorts of things( photocopies of photos of my garden flowers, drawings and paintings of flowers. I also used a greeting card, part of a calendar and a bunch of stickers Bernice sent me). This proves that you can have lots of color and fun without spending a lot of money. We even clipped some big photos out of calendars and trimmed them up into decorations.

As always there's been a lot of floral arranging and I'll include photos of that later.

The color of everything
I finished the second pink scarf and an earth tone hat so my right hand and arm are done for a while and /I'm back to exploring what I can and can't do left handed.
As I'm doing that I'm still thinking about color.
I've been so busy creating art for the last 45 years that I never noticed when colors acquired so much baggage. I choose colors that make me happy or suit my mood and not because they support a disease, war or sexual preference.
Does anyone remember when a rainbow was just a rainbow, pink wasn't the theme color for cancer and a yellow ribbon was just something you tied on a package?
