Out in the garden again...almost

Until I get a wheelchair with all terrain tires I won't actually be able to get out in the yard and garden so for now I'm contenting myself with rolling up and down the driveway while deadheading the lilies and tending to some of my plants in pots.

All the yellow lilies and the daisies have finished blooming and the only color left is the orange lilies and pink cone flowers.

This is bad news for the painting I'm working on unless I want to change what sorts of flowers I was in the middle of painting. The only other alternative would be to work from the photos I took before.

The latest garden photos

A bright welcome waits at the arbor as you enter the front yard.

The arbor itself gets a little more interesting all of the time as I add more paint and other items to it.

Although I used the same seed for all of the sunflowers here, the sunflowers in the front border are much smaller than those grown out in the back garden.

There's a lot of other work going on out front too. I'm emptying a lot of pots for the season and using the soil for some of the transplanting I want to get done before the cold weather sets in.

The fairy garden will be going indoors and be changed a bit with plants that will do better in the house. I haven't decided yet whether I'll be making changes in the furniture and accessories in it as well but I'm enjoying thinking about it and making plans.

The front yard

Here's the planter Doug and I built along the side of the house. It's doing so well that I need to find a new home for a lot of these plants. Next year they'll be part of the new border we're putting across the outside edge of the front yard.
