Current Projects

My sister and I continue to work on this little mural each time she comes to visit.

I also continue to draw the flowers from my garden.

Other things I'm working on are carving horses to paint for my dala horse store and embroidering a handkerchief for a gift.

An art project with sister's and friends

My one of my sister's does paper cutting so I scanned her little puppy into the computer and enlarged it so everyone could "play" with it.

I was drawing the roses on it when a friend brought the floral tape to the party and it inspired some of the other designs.

Before I'd finished I'd also cut up an old drawing and attached that too.

A is for art

One of my sisters is drawing outlines of letters and numbers , then I draw and paint designs on them and we'll use them to decorate merchandise in my stores.

Working together is fun and keeps the ideas popping like popcorn. when we can't get together in person it makes the mail fun.

Watercolor and ink really make a difference and this should be bright and fun on party balloons and stationery. Who knows? It may be nice on lots of other things too.

Here's the first bit of outlining and then I began to wonder what else I could do with the design and made a lot of photocopies to draw and paint  on.

I started by adding another rose and then worked more flowers and stronger colors in.

Somewhere in the middle of it there was company, good conversation and a lot of fun passing things around and writing letters on a lot of them to cheer up everyone we know. Everyone was kind of "doing their own thing", one of us paper cutting lots of fun things to tuck in the envelopes with the letters and the rest of us trying various types of pencils, paints and markers.

We got so busy that we nearly forgot to make lunch or take a coffee break.

 We never did decide which version of this that we liked best so I used several of them to design merchandise with in my stores and I'll let people vote with dollars.

A lot of the time when I'm not sure whether a design is good or not I go ahead and design products with it and wait to see whether it sells or not.

Turning an arbor into Art

I've got no plan for the designs on this arbor. I just paint whatever I feel like on any given day. A lot of it depends on how much time or paint I've got.

The great thing about all of the slats on the arbor is that it's a good opportunity to practice every border design you've ever thought of or wanted to try.

It's also fun to see what happens when I invite other people to join me for an art play day. So far I've done all of this but I'm looking forward to making it a group project and seeing the results of everyone's creativity
working together.
