Here We Are Again Between Projects

 Between projects is a very uncertain place to be. It can be the creative equivalent of quicksand or it can be a wonderful time for nurturing and discovery.

Which way this current bout will go is yet to be seen. please continue to follow along with me to see what happens next.

The first thing that I Played about with was some changes to one of my paintings.

I had fun choosing phrases from old art books and workbooks to  weave a bit of a story around the painting.

Thoughts on this years garden and Plans for next year

 Nothing in this years garden can really be considered a huge success. There are many reasons for that and a lot of excuses. I won't go into that here except to state that I plan to purchase the seed that I want and would ask that people stop sending or giving seed to me. I have very limited garden space and will need it all for the things that I to be growing next year. Thanks for your kindness but please confine it to cash donations or physical help moving things around in the garden. Thank You.

Part of next years plans include planting seeds saved from this years produce and tracking the results. Trying other varieties of plants and seeds including running a test bed to see how zinnias  grown from seed compare to zinnia plants bought as annuals.

I'm looking forward to the whole process and I hope you will find it interesting to follow as well.

2021 in Fruit and Veggies

 

The reason we're seeing flowers here is that they're Jerusalem Artichokes and under these flowers are bulbs that can be cleaned, rinsed and can be used much like potatoes. We haven't tried tasting them yet but it's nice to know that they're here for the digging

Grocery Still Life, I ate my Model!

 

I haven't done anything like this in a long time so I thought I'd give it a try. 

I think I've got a pretty good start on it so far. What do you think?

I didn't care much for the blue background and needed more contrast so I went to shades of yellow.

It amused me to paint a  painting in a painting just to push the composition a bit further. I was just lucky that both of my orange daisies were blooming so that i had something to work with.

Good Afternoon Friends,

    I've been pouring my heart out here for nearly 10 years and it's really embarrassing how few people are following me here.

As I mentioned yesterday we got a lot of free raspberry bushes but as we're both elderly an arthritic we can't work at it for very long at a time it's going to take a long time.

Well, it's that time again so back out to the garden.

A Bit of Garden News

I love unexpected surprises in the garden.  Just when I thought the veggies were about done I found a few salad makings.

The other interesting thing that happened is that workmen were doing some demolition on our block and cutting down an old clump of lilac bushes. I asked them what they were going to do with them and was told they were going to haul them to the dump.

That seemed like such a waste that I rolled over there and asked if I could have some of them and got the bosses permission if we would dig them up and lucky for me, my husband was willing to do it.

We have until tomorrow to rescue as many as we can.

Pillow from Painting to Product

Somewhere in the product design process image was stretched to

large and resulted on a blurry image so I'm on my way back to my zazzle  store to redesign it.
