Change of plans

I went back out to get the last of the lilies I'd been painting but they were done. Last nights rain was enough to pound half the petals off them so I went for a walk in the back yard to see if there was anything I'd forgotten about. 

 There were just 2 of these and I don't think they'd be much fun to paint so I think I'll do a few pen and ink drawings. I'll post pictures when I finish them.

 Whatever you call them I enjoyed doing the pencil and ink drawings and finding fun ways to put them all together.

 It reminds me of the rose by any other name in Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

Works on Paper

 I made a few "discoveries" while sorting through things today. I had thought I'd given all of the loose drawings and watercolors away but I found one here and there and began to round them all up in a portfolio that a friend had made for me.

 I was surprised by the number and different types and sizes of the work stuck into things around here. There's not much of it but it does span about 2 decades so seeing it together is kind of interesting and should stop the people that go around calling me the "Iris Lady". There's a lot more to this little 'ol grey haired lady than you might imagine...

 Paper cutting, water color, pen and inks drawings and colored pencil were among today's "finds".

I found these in an old sketchbook I had packed away years ago. As far as I know these are the last of them unless I grab a pen and get started again.

Old Drawings and new ways of looking at them

I came across these old drawings while sorting through things today and thought I'd better at least scan them in case I ever loose track of them again. They're all from the 1980's and 90's. I'd framed some of them once but there doesn't seem to be much of a market for my drawings so they've been pulled out again and dropped into some scrapbook pages until I find anyone interested in them. I hate to think how long they'll be there but they're safe and at least for now that's good enough.
