Recycled Catalog and Scrap Paper Greeting Card

Here's a look at the finished project:

I started with one of my old drawings but you could use a page from a kids color book or some clip art. Anything that's big enough to glue bits of catalog pages to.

I found it easiest to glue things is the right places and then cut my finished design out making any changes along the way that I needed to. I ended up changing the shape a bit in order to get the petals from the garden catalog pictures to fit.

Next, I looked for card stock and paper pieces big enough to make a card out of.

Garden update

Today's big excitement was finding out that one of the lilac bushes that I moved last year is going to have flowers this season. I got busy with the roses and haven't had time to check the rest of the lilacs yet.
It's sunny but cool so I'm still attempting to transplant a few things that have popped up in the wrong places. Yes, there's a lot of that around here. Oh well, it keeps me out of trouble and of course keeps my mind off my troubles as well.
Whenever you don't find me playing in the dirt I'm covered with paint. I'm a messy girl and happy that way-how about you?

Warmer Weather and a bit of yard work

 Our weather warmed up a bit so I thought I'd deal with some more of the leaves again. By the time I'd raked them away from the house I've got to say that It felt good to run them over with the lawn mower to break them up.

 About the third time I ran them over I was thinking that this basic feeling explains a lot of games and activities. (The pleasure of running over anything that annoys you or gets in the way). Just last week one of our local newscasters was talking about it being great that we have a place where anyone that can afford it can drive a tank and even crush cars with it.

 I began to wonder if it doesn't say something about the attitudes of a lot of people in this country...instead of relaxing and enjoying the yard we're all busy running all sorts of power guzzling machines over and through it.

I went back indoors looking at things a bit differently and beginning to wonder if it will change the way I handle problems in the future.
