Working Together on Halloween Designs

It all started when I sent a photo of sunflowers from my garden to a pen pal and she sent it back with pumpkin stickers on it.

I started to take the idea further with watercolors.

I layered on some colored pencil and then finished it with ink.
I'm also continuing to try different ways of drawing pumpkins as I try to continue to develop the design idea.
Another approach I may try is to go to Zazzle and combine my existing sunflower and pumpkin designs and see how that looks.

Either way it's been fun and brightened up letters for my pen pal and I.

I'll start with putting it in stickers.

Stickers to the rescue

Sometimes it's just not convenient to touch up the paint in the room so I used wall decals from the dollar store to cover the boo boos in the wall and coordinate with the painting that hangs on that wall.

The solution was fast, cheap and easy as well as easy on the eyes. I like it a lot.

Making Cards with stickers, card stock and photos

Here's the outside of the largest card. the exciting thing here is that I used some of the photos of some of the wooden butterflies that I painted a few weeks ago along with a sheet of stickers that I got in today's mail.

Here's the inside of the largest card.
This is the outside of the smallest card.and the nice thing about this is that both cards were cut from the same sheet of card stock and will fit in standard business size envelopes.

The scissors for the scalloped edges were given to me by another friend last week.

The new Iris drawing and a bit of fun with it

I just finished this colored pencil drawing an hour ago.
Of course the first thing I wanted to do was see how it would look on stickers and having seen that I'll be going back to the drawing to do a bit of darkening or outlining on the top petals. I think it's got potential, don't you?

Back to the computer

We thought it would be fun to take the section of the painting I'd finished and see if we could remove the background and use it on stickers. Here's the way it looks so far. I'll let you know what happens when we actually print the stickers.

Morning paper, pencils and more fun

A friend gave me a big roll of floral photo corners and as you can see I had a ball "playing" with them . After that I made a card from one of those altered Sunflower pictures and did a bit of drawing on an envelope to go along with it. I'd love to keep working on this stuff but it's off to exercise class. 264 pounds is just not where I want to be. If I can make amazing things out of my junk mail I ought to be able to make something of myself. Wish me Luck!

Yes, I went right back to it as soon as I got home and the next time I looked at the clock it was FOUR hours later!!! I'll be grabbing a broom now and dealing with my "debris field" and then of course I'll be moving on to other projects. (I'll have to, those were the last of the 200 watercolor card and envelopes sets I've gone through in the last year) ...who knows, maybe I'll sell a painting or something and be able to shop for more art supplies...Quick!!! before I have to do some housework!
