Beyond the garden photos

After altering the flower pictures in all of the ways I could think of the thought occurred to me that there must be a way to do something useful with the unmowed grass and the weeds as well so I isolated those areas of the photos and went back to work with an assortment of filters and other things in the paint program.

Why would I bother? Sometimes it's just to see how far I can push an idea but today I'm looking for designs that would adapt themselves well to neckties and no one will ever guess just looking at them that the design was inspired by nature...although I think the guys would like to know that the whole thing started by NOT mowing the lawn.

It's surprising the number of colors and effects you can create with the computer, isn't it?

I think I'll be "playing" with this idea a lot more through the rest of the season.

Who knows?...I may try it with the veggies too.

Here are some pictures of another dala horse I'm working on. I started t his one yesterday and am enjoying it so far. I just haven't decided on a third color to add to the mix.

I got a lot of drawing today but it was all on the edges of my letters and on the envelopes. They went out in the mail before I got a chance to scan them into the computer. I'll try to get pictures next time.

Recycle Your Art...it's black, white and green!

I've been trying to come up with a nice black and white pattern for some items I've been designing at http://www.zazzle.com/irisart  I'd done items with individual Iris drawings but I wanted a more abstract all over pattern so I printed copies of a lot of my old drawings to cut up and work with to create something new. After I'd cut and pieced a lot of it in a way that appealed to me I went back with a pen and did some drawing in between the images to tie it all together. So Far I'm quite pleased with the results and really enjoyed the work so yank out all your old sketchbooks and have some fun. You may be surprised at the evolution of some of your ideas which should lead to even more projects.
