A New Look to the Garden

I love this hosta border along my path from the house to the garden.

Here are a few small pots of marigolds to brighten things up into the fall.  I always try to time things so there is always something new to look forward to.

The mobile flower bed is full of broccoli and strawberries now.

It's difficult to see in this photo but there's a lovely mix of yellow, orange and purple in this flower bed.

The orange lilies are a sure sign that summer is nearly over.

It's amazing how much the garden changes each time one of the other flowers bloom. Now that the whites of the lily of the valley and violas have stopped blooming we're treated to a show of yellow and purple with the lilies and hosta.

The Lemon Lilies are blooming now, they were a gift from my Mother and make me smile all over again each year they come back.

The Garden from Julia's Viewpoint

This is the view of my garden that most people don't see. With my Wheelchair tilted up and back I live to stare up into the treetops when I take a break from working around the place.

A few minutes here watching birds or an occasional helicopter just puts your mind in a lighter,brighter mood. Besides that you can't see how much weeding needs to be done.

Back at work I'm trimming the perennial sunflowers down so they don't overwhelm the flower bed and crowd my path to the driveway.

I can only reach partway into them so my sister will come tomorrow to trim the ones on the street side.

The pink of the seedum is really welcome as the only other thing blooming here is the marigolds on the other end of the yard.

On the other end of the flower bed we've cleaned up and trimmed the roses for next year.

Painting Sunflowers, Daisies and Marigolds from my 2018 Garden

I tried a number of different backgrounds for this painting and ended up leaving it green because it will be removed by computer when I use this design on fabrics and other products.

Instead I focused my energy on getting the flowers the way that I wanted them. Here you see me changing a wildflower to a marigold to better balance my design.

At this point it's just a matter of deciding which end I want up in the final design.

I prefer it this way but on some items it really won't matter what direction it is. That's one of the really fun and surprising things about florals.

Painting Flowers

OK, the pink lily isn't wild but I love it anyway, don't you?

I grew the Marigolds from seed and had to include some if them too.

Well, this is just plain silly but i just had to see if these cherry tomatoes would continue to ripen in the house.

The pink flower was a new perennial that I was trying out this year. It was supposed to be more of a pom, pom in the center. it's called pink poddle.
